Step 1: Acknowledge Jesus as your Lord and Saviour
Have you given a thought to where would your final destination be if the Lord called you back?
You may be a Christian/Catholic/Non believer (Hindu, Muslim, Parsi or any other religion). Ponder these words of scripture.
In Isaiah 45 (American Standard Version) verses 22-24:
Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth; for I am God, and there is none else.By myself have I sworn, the word is gone forth from my mouth in righteousness, and shall not return, that unto me every knee shall bow, every tongue shall swear.Only in Jehovah, it is said of me, is righteousness and strength; even to him shall men come; and all they that were incensed against him shall be put to shame.
In the book of Romans Ch10 verse 9 and 13 Paul writes – “because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”
In the book of Acts Peter’s sermon declared in Chapter 2 verses 17-21
And it shall be in the last days, saith God, I will pour forth of my Spirit upon all flesh: And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, And your young men shall see visions, And your old men shall dream dreams: Yea and on my servants and on my handmaidens in those days Will I pour forth of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. And I will show wonders in the heaven above, And signs on the earth beneath; Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke: The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the day of the Lord come, That great and notable day .And it shall be, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
Salvation therefore is only through Jesus meaning “Lord our Saviour”. We are in the last days as declared above and everything mentioned in the bible must come to pass before Jesus comes. When you get saved you get enrolled in heaven in the Book of Life.
Call and Acknowledge Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour by saying;
(Lord Jesus I am a sinner, come into my heart, wash away my sins and cleanse me from all guilt and condemnation. I believe you shed your Blood, died for me on the Cross and God raised you from the dead. Therefore I believe I am saved on the authority of your word)
Through the death of Jesus all of mankind’s sins are washed away and forgiven. Salvation is therefore God’s free gift to us. It cannot be obtained by our works or deeds or our righteous living,, as our righteousness is filthy rags in God’s presence. All He desires is that everyone accept the free gift of Salvation and be saved.
What happens when you get saved? Heavens rejoice that one more soul is snatched away from the kingdom of Satan. The Holy Spirit comes and makes His dwelling on the inside of you and you are now God’s possession. You then find a good bible believing church to fellowship with so that you grow in Him.
Step 2: Fear the Lord and walk in obedience to His Word
Signs around us show that there is a shaking of everything that can be shaken.
In Hebrews Chapter 12 verses 22-29
but ye are come unto mount Zion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to innumerable hosts of angels, to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are enrolled in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, and to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaketh better than that of Abel.
See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not when they refused him that warned them on earth, much more’shall not we escape who turn away from him that warneth from heaven: whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more will I make to tremble not the earth only, but also the heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that have been made, that those things which are not shaken may remain. Wherefore, receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us have grace, whereby we may offer service well-pleasing to God with reverence and awe: for our God is a consuming fire.
Israel was and is God’s chosen people and nation and yet God did not spare them for disobedience. He brought them (3 million people) out of Egypt, through the Red Sea to take them to the Promised Land. But on the way they rebelled against God and Moses.
In Numbers 16 verses 28-35 – But if Jehovah make a new thing, and the ground open its mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down alive into Sheol; then ye shall understand that these men have despised Jehovah.
The Earth Swallows Up Korah
And it came to pass, as he made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them; and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed them up, and their households, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods. So they, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into Sheol: and the earth closed upon them, and they perished from among the assembly. And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them; for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up. And fire came forth from Jehovah, and devoured the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.
Moses did not enter the Promised Land because he failed to listen to the Lords instructions
Judas Iscariott one of Jesus’ 12 selected men was destroyed by Satan for stealing money from the treasury
Is God therefore mean and unloving? No He is a Loving God as scripture states that God is love. He sent His only Son Jesus to die for you and me so we can be saved and through His death He wrested the keys of hell, defeated Satan and all His demons, purchased us back from slavery and bondage and has set us free to enjoy the blessings that Adam gave up by treason to the devil.
God therefore desires us to fear Him and walk in obedience to His Word and not rebel against Him. He is a Holy God as much as He is loving and kind and merciful and forgiving.
Step 3: Know Jesus and the Holy Spirit
We may be believers for a long time either because of our parents, or have pastors or priests or religious in our families and we may have been to church and attended Catechism classes or Sunday school and done all the good works in the church, given our tithes and offerings and known about Jesus. The question is do we know Jesus personally as MY LORD? Are we on the broad road or narrow path? Let us see what scripture has to say on this. In Matthew Ch7 verses 13-14 and 17-23
Enter ye in by the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many are they that enter in thereby. For narrow is the gate, and straitened the way, that leadeth unto life, and few are they that find it.
Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy by thy name, and by thy name cast out demons, and by thy name do many mighty works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
How do we know Him? Through His Word. His Word is a lamp to our feet and a Light to our path. Jesus is the Word of God John 1/1. When you reject his Word you reject Him. His Word is His Operation Manual for our lives. His Word builds faith. No Word no faith. The Holy Spirit our Comforter that we receive at salvation is on the inside of us to teach us the Word and convict us of any sin.
